CURL COMPARE™: Design Essentials Detangling Leave-In Conditioner

ORIGINAL POST 04/04/2019

Now when I say ‘mini’, I mean it.

Design Essentials Almond & Avocado Detangling Leave-In Conditioner

So, this product is exactly what the title says… it’s a leave-in conditioner with detangling properties. I often switch up my detanglers/leave-in conditioners because I’m always on the hunt for the perfect curls. I’ll find that one product that will give me great results but I’ll end up looking for something else that would work better (which is annoying, to be honest). Let’s get into the latest addition to my collection of hair products!

At first glance from the shelf, the product itself isn’t too colorful or eye-catching. I also had never heard of the brand prior to purchasing the product. Honestly, I saw the word “avocado” on the bottle and I was interested.

A hair product’s scent is super important to me, because no matter how great it is, if I don’t like the way it smells, I won’t use it. The Design Essentials Detangling Leave-In doesn’t disappoint in the scent department since it smells amazingggg— the scent isn’t too strong, just light and fresh.

As far as detangling goes, this product works wonderfully. It leaves my hair super moisturized and gives my hair enough slip for easy, pain-free detangling. I use it exclusively after I’ve freshly washed and conditioned my hair. This product in conjunction with my detangling tips screams definition. I love how the bottle is an actual squeeze bottle instead of a spray bottle or pump applicator, since those don’t disperse as much product. I use this product under a curling cream or pudding, so I’m not sure how it would define my curls when used alone.

This leave-in wasn’t expensive at all. I purchased it from Sally’s for about $10. If you’re looking for more of a bargain, I found it online at Amazon for roughly about $8. I’m sure it’s on sale at a few other places online, too. If you find it somewhere cheaper, let me know! I love a good deal.

Overall, this product gets the job done well, smells great and is pocket-friendly. I honestly wish the product came in a bigger size since I use plenty of product to properly moisturize my hair. If you use your products sparingly, then this would not be much of an issue for you.

What’s your go-to detangler? Have you tried any of Design Essential’s other products? Get your Design Essentials Natural Detangling Leave-In Conditioner today and see the results!
